Journeys - Grade 5
Journeys, our NUSD adopted core reading curriculum material from Houghton Mifflin Harcourt, was designed to meet the diverse needs of all students. This program is used in grades 4 and 5 and is aligned with the Common Core standards. Our Journeys Reading Program can be directly linked through this website by clicking on the Think Central link. The student anthology is available to view at home. It's a great opportunity for students to listen/read the main selection story again especially before the weekly test. Students will communicate these weekly quizzes in their daily agendas. Practice book pages can be printed at home. If a student has an assignment due the following day but left their practice book at school, they can print the pages at home! The leveled readers are available for students to listen/read. They are organized by lessons and include vocabulary for the week. These are an excellent way to hear vocabulary used in context. *Both Spelling City and Quizlet now have free apps available for download so you can practice your spelling and vocab on the go!
